We had a grand time. Went up mid week to take in the sights and really enjoyed the event itself. I know the organisers were disapointed to loose quite a few sections through a combination of forestry operations and the weather. Personally I didn't think this detracted to much from the event apart from there being quite a few sections where you had to reverse back down if you failed. We were an early number and didn't experience any delay but reversing time could have affected those towards the back.

I enjoyed the sections, especially coming out the top of Sandale under my own power! Unlike my last Northern I didn't commit any howlers this year so no 11's or 12's, nor did I hit any trees this time. Big shout out to Thomas Aldrian who was marshalling on Ladyside and helped keep that slate clean when I nealy backed into one and had to be pushed off. Sorry about the mud on your new jacket Thomas! Perhaps I picked up 10 or so marks during the day. We will see when the results come out.

I understand Big Cockup was canceled and a little bird tells me that if it wasn't for this Dean Partington would have picked up an 11 after an aerial maneuver!

Super trialling weather, muddy underneath on a cold clear day allowing us from down south to experience those wonderful views.

I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed my day.
I am very grateful to Dennis Beale, who normally passengers for Dave Miller. He stepped into the breach when Barbara found that she had to work that day. The sections were a good mix, although a little too dry from the organisers point of view I suspect.

My wife Caroline enjoyed her trip up to the lakes,we really missed it last year.
We had great fun and travelled around with our Liege Buddies which is nice.
The section took its toll on our front suspension and on Ullister hill we snapped the front top A arm bolts off the chassis
This made me drive with a LOT more care in the sections, but we did manage a finish.
We were hoping not to get towed up Sandale, maybe next year ?

Well done on the class win Steve and to Team Liege for a 1-2-3. Perhaps that extra compliance in the front end helped you on Sheepfold? What happened to Kevin and Jules to get 12's there?

Dont ask about the 12's!!!
Had a great day out and the trial was a good format of road sections and forest roads linking the sections. Had a little delay near the start when my alternator had melt down but other than that a trouble free day. Jules would have took overall Class 7 if he had pressed harder on the brakes on the special tests ;-)
Well done Fell Side and all the marshalls, great sections, well run and great views!!!!

Must try harder! The start caught us out and both me and Jules spun out by taking what looked an easier line off the tightly policed start line and not getting enough grip over the tree roots / hump, tut tut

Cracking trial. Ride out to the first group was a bit chilly but I'll never learn to dress properly for the road. Robert Relton is my hero of the day, he rode an enormous BMW 1200 GS up those sections, how he managed to turn it around at the top of some of those dead-end hills I'll never know.

I must say when front end is broke you do drive with more care and it helped.
But I was lucky, Jules failed the special tests(brake balance issue) other wise it would have been his win in our class.

There was a photographer from the local paper, at Black Hole. He took some splendid photographs for an article that appeared in the Wednesday edition. At last I’ve got the Photos of the Northern Trial ready, as usual they are on my Smugmug site here http://hoits.smugmug.com/Classic-Trials/Northern-2010. As a change from my usual process I have put higher resolution copies of the same Photos on a photo printing service web site called Photobox here http://www.photoboxgallery.com/3796 .
This should make ordering any photos you want quite a simple process, and in my experience Photobox photos are very good. They offer a range of sizes, so you can get a poster if you want one. They also offer a variety of other products, like Photbooks, calendars Diaries etc. Check out their web site at http://www.photobox.co.uk/, and let me know if there’s anything you want that can’t be ordered from my site.
You will see that I’ve put a premium of about £1 per photograph on any copies orderd, which I hope will go towards my next new lens.
Please let me know via e’mail at Dave_cook@blueyonder.co.uk, if you think this is a good idea or if you think it’s a rip off.
By the way I am still happy to keep supplying clubs with photos for publicity use.

Yes we have moved again and you have not seen it !

Caroline will choose which ones she likes (the boss know best eh??)
I dont mind the small premium and we will be buying a few.
if you did not turn up we would not have any real quality photo's to speak of, only our own humble attempts.
I presume you went on up and had some time with the grandkids?
