OK Michael, I think we need a clue. Let's start with the answer to either:
Was it used this year? or Which (roughly) part of the country is it in? I am, of course, assuming that it's "right way up" on a Google map and you haven't confused us by putting North at the bottom!

There's me thinking it was to easy! I'll show you a bit more and say that most of us have been up it and even down it! Perhaps not Josh though

Andrew privately gave me the right answer by email this morning but suggests we keep the fun going! Is that Madness :-)

Michael the only section I can think of that we may of come down as well as gone up would be Sugg Lane on the Lands End,but then I am only a youngster:-)

Nick, I think you have got it.

Yes well done Nick. The picture above would have been the final clue where I think the bridge over Gods Wonderful Railway would have given it away. Thats where the restart was generally situated.

Just in case anyone would like to understand the clues:-

"most of us have been up it and even down it! Perhaps not Josh though" - The exit track from Sugg Lane is a section called "Windmill Hill". When you go up Windmill Hill you come down Sugg Lane. Josh may not have been up or down it as it hasn't been used for some years. It has been the first hill on both the Lands End and the Exeter when they started from The Jolly Diner.

I reckon it was the reference to Madness that clinched it. For older and younger readers their lead singer was called Suggs.

Hope everyone enjoyed this years questions as much as I did running the quiz. Huge thanks to Martyn Halliday and Robin Barlow for the pictures and information for questions 1 & 2

If you like my questions don't miss the lunchtime quiz at "Race Retro". I have been asked to provide them again this year.
