Is this a newbuild ('continuation') chassis, or one from the orginal production run that was either an unused or repaired chassis, or from an ex-factory kit that was never completed? (see: http://www.wheelspin.info/cars/troll.htm#020)

If its a new chassis I do hope that they have used a better quality tube than that used on the original Trolls that rusted badly from inside. I say this from very bitter personal experience.
Good luck to Mike if these chassis are at last to be made available to buy.

Thank you for the interest shown so far.
To confirm, this is one of the chassis' from the last official production run.
It has been verified by Peter James and I can confirm that the item is unused and is NOT a repaired chassis.
I would like to say at this point, that if there is an encouraging response to the availability of a new Troll chassis and the supply of parts then a production run could again be possible.

If someone were to buy this chassis to build a new Troll, what's the availablity of things like body panels, brackets and all the other minutiae required to make up a complete car?

Fourtune Engineering, Steve Holder has jigs to make upper and lower front wishbones as fitted to my old T6.

Response to the enquiry regarding body panels and other specific Troll T6 parts relating to this chassis.

As licensee we can supply the required parts to complete the vehicle. It is some time since the last production run, so we are currently costing a number of items with the prospect of further production.

We would prefer to supply a paneled chassis in order to maintain a high standard of build quality and the use of correct materials. (See latest attached photo).

We would be happy to discuss all genuine enquiries over the telephone.

Stuart Harold's comment regarding rusting tubes.... just to clarify; this car was bought as a kit by Phil Winnnell who assembled the car without any contact with Troll Engineering and as a result the car was assembled in an unorthodox manner, e.g. the radius arms are fitted back to front. So perhaps it's not surprising that the bottom of the car was not sealed properly and that after 20+ years the tube has rusted. As with all competition cars; particularly those that have to face up to the rigours of trialling; reliability and longevity comes from meticulous preparation.

Sorry Mark you are wrong. The complete chassis was bought from Troll Engineering and the tubes were all beautifully brazed up. The only chassis mod made by the late Bob Brain who built the car was to slightl reposition the four link (radius rods) further forward to allow longer links to the same specification as a rally Group 4 Escort Mk.2. Nothingb else was done to the chassis. I stand by what I said, the 25 mm square section tubes should have been of a hevier gauge. Most other Troll owners who are still using their cars will agree with me. Perhaps a good idea when you get a new chassis would be to inject Waxoil into it.
Any way, its good to see that the Troll might be available again.
